Mom...It's Cancer
Breast Cancer: One Family, Two Women, Two Battles, Too Unimaginable!
Imagine being a young, healthy, athletic woman and hearing the words, “It’s breast cancer.” Imagine being this young woman’s mom, and diagnosed with a different but also less common form of breast cancer twenty-three months later.
A true and moving story about a mother and daughter who had hopes and dreams of sharing the joys mothers and daughters share, they never expected this! Tracy, and then her mom, Kathy Crews, faced the unimaginable. Tracy’s unusual
complications during her illness placed her in the smallest minority of patients, challenging the expertise of her doctors. Two years later, Tracy assumed the leadership role of “survivor” as she guided her mom through equally unusual circumstances surrounding her diagnosis and treatment choices. Read an excerpt from the book.
Mom…It’s Cancer is Kathy’s memoir based upon her email prayer requests that originated with Tracy’s prayer needs. Interest in Kathy’s emails grew as she chronicled her own journey as she took part in an experimental clinical trial and shared each step of that experience. The response she received from those emails was overwhelming as countless numbers of people were enlightened and informed about the disease and encouraged through Kathy‘s faith.
Mom…It’s Cancer is a multi-faceted story brimming with emotion. It is an open and at times comical look into “surviving” breast cancer, exposing lesser known details and truths encountered along the way. Initially, Kathy discusses how helplessly uninformed she felt when Tracy was diagnosed with the disease.
What was learned through Tracy’s illness later became invaluable information
during her own illness.
Tracy’s diagnosis was a stepping stone in her mom’s life in numerous ways. Kathy discovered through illness that God was teaching her a valuable lesson… It is not the trials we face that matter, but how we “journey” through those trials.
